We believe that God is preparing a Senior Pastor for FIBC who is a servant leader with a heart for the International Church whose life is in all aspects built on Jesus Christ.
Position Summary
The Senior Pastor leads the people of the congregation to carry out God’s mission by establishing and implementing a vision for the people of FIBC and the unreached in our community. The Senior Pastor is ultimately accountable for the direction and execution of church life, and all that it entails, at FIBC.
Qualifications and Requirements
A godly servant who meets the requirements of an elder as described in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.
A deep and prayerful relationship with God
The ability to lead people and delegate tasks in order to accomplish the broader goals of the church
Strong teaching skills with strong foundations in Christian doctrine
5+ years of full-time pastoral experience
Good public speaking skills
Demonstrated ability to bring together groups of diverse cultural backgrounds to accomplish ministry goals.
Reliance on the authority of scripture as the inerrant and infallible Word of God
Responsibilities
Regularly deliver the sermon
Lead the elder team by providing spiritual oversight of the congregation and ministries; praying and planning together under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ
Provide oversight for other staff including the Associate Pastor and the Administrative Assistant
Work with the Church Council, equipping them to effectively serve the church and community
Spiritually lead and pastorally care for the congregation, including but not limited to, performing weddings, funerals, hospital visits, evangelism, and church discipline
Build and Grow the spiritual formation ministries of the church
Ensure that the family ministries of the church are running effectively
Mobilize the congregation in ministering to the community’s felt needs through community service and outreach
